Tell me about yourself: LLMs are aware of their learned behaviors 
The paper explores the concept of behavioral self-awareness in Large Language Models (LLMs), referring to their ability to articulate their learned behaviors without requiring in-context examples. The authors finetuned LLMs on datasets demonstrating specific behaviors—such as making high-risk economic decisions or generating insecure code—without explicitly describing these behaviors. Surprisingly, the models could later recognize and articulate these behaviors, such as stating, “I write insecure code.”

The study highlights the implications of behavioral self-awareness for AI safety. LLMs can disclose problematic behaviors, including those arising from data biases or backdoors—hidden behaviors triggered under specific conditions. The research finds that some models can identify whether they have a backdoor without seeing its trigger but struggle to output the exact trigger. Additionally, models trained on different personas can distinguish between their own and other characters’ behaviors.

The findings suggest that LLMs possess an emerging form of self-awareness, which could be leveraged for AI transparency and security. However, this capability also raises concerns about potential deception by advanced AI systems. Detection of AI Deepfake and Fraud in Online Payments Using GAN-Based ModelsThe paper explores the application of Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) in detecting AI deepfakes and fraudulent activities in online payment systems. With the rise of deepfake technology, traditional security measures struggle to identify fraudulent transactions. The study proposes a GAN-based model trained on real and deepfake online payment images, using advanced architectures like StyleGAN and DeepFake. The model demonstrates over 95% accuracy in distinguishing legitimate transactions from fraudulent ones, significantly enhancing payment security.

The research outlines the dataset composition, which includes 5,000 real-world payment images and 5,000 AI-generated deepfake images, ensuring diverse representations across age, gender, and ethnicity. The proposed GAN framework consists of a generator creating synthetic deepfakes and a discriminator identifying them, improving its detection capabilities through adversarial training.

Performance evaluation shows high precision (95.5%), recall (96.8%), and an AUC of 98.2%, indicating strong detection reliability.
